Chappell Roan Brings Out Drag Race Star Sasha Colby During Concert

Chappell Roan and Sasha Colby

Your favorite artist’s favorite artist has finally met your favorite drag queen’s favorite drag queen. Say that five times fast. Of course, we’re talking about Chappell Roan sharing a stage with one of the biggest icons in the drag community, Sasha Colby.

Roan’s meteoric success continued to rise on Friday night when she drew a huge crowd during her set at the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, Washington. Despite not being the headlining act — which was Remi Wolf — Roan’s crowd brought the energy, especially when she surprised fans with a special guest.

During one of her hit songs, “Hot To Go,” drag queen Sasha Colby strutted out onto the stage to a jumping and dancing Roan and immediately joined in on the viral dance that goes alongside the chorus of the song — according to fan footage. Without missing a beat, Colby started making the arm gestures that go along with the lyrics, “H-O-T-T-O-G-O” as the crowd followed suit.

Toward the end, Roan shouted into the mic, “Sasha Colby everyone!”

The queen, who rose in popularity after winning the drag pageant Miss Continental in 2012 and later RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2023, shared photos and videos from the entire experience to her Instagram Stories. In one video, Colby and Roan are shown hugging and chatting, while Roan looks giddy and excited.

Colby also posted videos of Roan backstage before making her grand entrance, as well as her dancing from the side of the stage.

Chappell Roan has long been a fan of drag queens and has often considered her on-stage persona one as well. During her performance at Coachella in April, Roan referenced Colby’s famous saying, “I’m your favorite drag queen’s favorite drag queen,” and reworked it with “artist” instead of drag queen. Roan reiterated that Colby was her favorite drag queen in an Instagram Story post in May, explaining why she said that on the Coachella stage.
