For the first time ever, a few editors went on a Teen Vogue Tries IRL adventure, which happened to be at one of the most popular spas in NYC — Ancient Aire (anyone remember the iconic John Wick scene filmed there?!). We were sent on a beauty mission to try out Tarte’s latest product, the Creaseless Creamy Concealer — while soaking in hot baths — and we were more than excited to put the product to the test.

Now, if you’re wondering why we would test out a concealer at the spa, well, that was our first thought, too, but we ultimately decided that if Tarte felt confident enough in the concealer to withstand extreme heat and mist, then why not give it a try? According to the product description, the new concealer formula offers full coverage with a natural finish. Its anti-crease formula won’t break down or settle into fine lines, and it’s made with hydrating ingredients like maracuja and a cloudberry complex that brightens the appearance of dark undereyes.

Tarte sent us a bunch of shades to choose from, and after we each found our perfect match, we applied it right at our desks and took selfies to document the before-and-after results. We then headed over to the spa and took another selfie in the lobby to get a final look at the concealer before entering the baths because cell phones were not allowed inside. Spoiler alert: The results pretty much lived up to the waterproof and crease-proof claims. But don’t just take our word for it, see the results for yourself below! We promise you’ll be as shocked as we were, so scroll on to read our honest thoughts.

Nowadays, a concealer has to work very hard for me since it’s become the main staple in my everyday beauty routine. It’s replaced my foundation, and I find that it feels so much more lightweight and is easier to work with. As a regular Tarte cosmetics concealer girly, I’ve come to trust the brand in giving me the full coverage I need to cover up dark circles and blemishes. Now, when Tarte came to us about testing out the new formula at Aincent Aire, I immediately shook my head thinking..huh? Wearing concealer in a sauna bath doesn’t seem right to me, but if they’re confident in asking, then it must definitely be worth trying.

I first applied the concealer with a few dots under my eyes and brows. The product blended out very easily, and I love how hydrated and brightened my undereyes looked. After spending about two hours hopping in and out of the hot baths, a steam room, and a jacuzzi, I can happily say that the anti-crease formula is truly 10/10. I only noticed slight smudging when I zoomed in really close into the mirror, but other than that, that product pretty much looked exactly the same as when I had first applied it. – Shauna Beni-Haynes, Commerce Editor
